A new problem has arisen for Punjab’s famous Sufi singer Satinder Sartaj. He is going to have a show in Kapurthala, Punjab, but before that he will have to appear in the court. Sartaj has been summoned by the district court Kapurthala on October 30. This summons against Satinder Sartaj has been issued on the petition of SS Malli, a senior advocate and sportsman from Kapurthala. SS Malli said in his petition that singer Satinder Sartaj is having a show on the ground of Guru Nanak Stadium on November 10. Most of the tickets for the show have also been sold. In such a situation, the stadium is being used as a business by Sartaj.
Malli said in the petition that he goes to the stadium daily for practice and yoga. Many players come to practice on the hockey ground in the stadium every day. Apart from this, there are no other grounds in Kapurthala, due to which it will be a big problem for those who practice daily. The said ground has been built with government funds by spending lakhs of rupees. In such a situation, while the players will face problems due to Sartaj’s show to be held on November 10, their daily practice will also be disrupted.
In this case, Satinder Sartaj along with his company Firdos Production, Secretary Punjab Government, Director Sports Punjab, DC Kapurthala, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Kapurthala, District Sports Officer, SSP Kapurthala, SP Traffic, Security Incharge Kapurthala have also been made parties.
Stadium not for commercial events
Petitioner SS Malli said that there is only Guru Nanak Stadium in Kapurthala which was built by the government to promote sports. In this, sports related programs and state level sports competitions have been organized for a long time. According to the rules, if someone wants to organize a program in the stadium, then it can be given on rent for public welfare program and not for any commercial program.
There should be a program for charity
Whenever the District Sports Officer provided land and gave permission for Kabaddi matches, he used to write a line below it that no tickets of any kind would be sold for this program. Despite this, the District Sports Officer gave permission for this commercial program. If Satinder Sartaj wants to do a program then do it for charity so that the needy class can benefit.
Committee Chairman CM Mann
Meanwhile, District Sports Officer Shashwat Razdan said that no permission has been issued by him yet. A file of this entire concept has been prepared and sent to the Director of Sports, something can be said only after permission is received from there. Punjab State Sports Council has been formed by the Punjab Government for such programs. Only its committee thinks about this, the chairman of which is CM Mann himself.
DC said permission has not been given yet
According to DC Kapurthala, an application for permission had come to him. Which has been forwarded to the concerned departments for NOC. But till now no letter of permission has been issued by them. If sources are to be believed, 80 percent of the tickets for this Sartaj show have been sold. Whereas the district administration claims that permission has not been given yet.
