As soon as the government changed in Haryana, 24 officers and employees of the Agriculture Department were punished. In fact, the government has issued an order to suspend 24 employees on Tuesday. This includes employees from Agriculture Development Officer to Agriculture Supervisor. It is being told that the Haryana government has taken this action for failing to stop pollution.
According to the order issued by the government, the suspended employees include two from Sonipat, two from Panipat, two from Hisar, two from Jind, three from Kaithal, three from Karnal, three from Fatehabad, four from Kurukshetra and three from Ambala. . The duty of all these officers was imposed to stop stubble burning, but they all failed to stop these activities.
Chief Secretary of Punjab-Haryana summoned on 23 October
Let us tell you, the Supreme Court had reprimanded the Punjab and Haryana governments as well as the Panel Commission for Air Quality Management for failing to stop stubble burning. Along with this, the Chief Secretaries of both the states were asked to appear in the court on 23 October. Even before this, the Haryana government has taken major action.
Asked both states to take action against negligent officers
The Supreme Court had said last week that the Punjab and Haryana governments have not taken any action against those who burn stubble. CAQM was also reprimanded and asked to take action against negligent officials. The bench of Justice Abhay S Oka, Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice Augustine George had said that both the governments had been told about this earlier also but no action has been taken on it. The Punjab government has not initiated even a single case in the last three years.
