During the formal conversation, Speaker Sandhavan said that although the auspicious day of Diwali is celebrated warmly by people of all religions as it is a common festival, but for the last few years there has been an awareness among people about celebrating a pollution-free Diwali, due to which people have more than fireworks and crackers. The trend of planting saplings, maintaining them and celebrating a pollution-free Green Diwali has increased.
Speaker Sandhawan said that the Punjab government has also appealed to the students and employees of various departments to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali through the heads of schools, colleges and other government institutions.
Governor Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria while appreciating the above thought of Speaker Sandhavan said that strict measures are being taken by NGT and Pollution Control Board to prevent pollution. A formal conversation was also held by both the families on this occasion and many other informal discussions were also held.
