Following the recent transfers of IAS and IPS officers, the Haryana government is preparing for a significant reshuffle of HCS (Haryana Civil Service) and HPS (Haryana Police Service) officers. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) is finalizing the transfer list, while ministers and MLAs recommend preferred placements for their favored officers. Many officers are also lobbying for coveted positions. The transfer list is expected to be released within the next one or two days.
Sources claim this transfer list may include officers who allegedly acted against the government during the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Based on intelligence reports, these officers may be sidelined, and some are reportedly making rounds in Chandigarh and Delhi to influence their placements. The CMO has begun drafting the list, reviewing each officer individually.
It is likely that initially, 25 to 30 SDMs will be reassigned. In the police department, 23 inspectors who were recently promoted to DSP rank will also receive new postings. Additionally, DSPs who have been stationed at the same location for extended periods will be transferred to other areas.
Principal Secretary Appointment Still Pending
The Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary position remains vacant, as the former Principal Secretary, senior IAS officer V. Umashankar, has moved to the central government. Names being considered for this role include IAS officers Vijayendra Kumar, Anil Malik, and Anurag Rastogi. Additionally, the CMO has yet to appoint an OSD (Officer on Special Duty). Some former OSDs from the previous government are hopeful for reappointment to these roles.
