The hearing of the case of sending Anmol Bishnoi, brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and other gang members abroad by making fake passports was held in Mohali District Court on Tuesday. The investigating officer (IO) sought a 20-day extension from the court as the challan has not been presented in the case so far. The court granted the extension after hearing the arguments. Now the next hearing of the case will be on November 19.
During the hearing, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, gangster Jagdeep Singh alias Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Boota Khan and Deepak Tinu were produced in the court through video conferencing (VC). On the last hearing, gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Boota Khan and Deepak Tinu were not produced in the court by the jail authorities. On this, the court issued production warrants for all three and directed to present them through video conferencing on November 5.
During the hearing on Tuesday, SI Amandeep Singh appeared in the court and said that he is the investigating officer of the case. The challan of the case is pending for approval from the concerned officer and it will be presented in 20 days. Till then the court should give them time.
What is the matter
On June 20, 2022, Punjab State Crime Police had registered a case against 10 people including gangster Lawrence Bishnoi under sections 384, 465, 466, 468, 471, 120B and Passport Act 12 and 25 of IPC. Apart from Lawrence, gangster Karamveer Singh alias Karnveer Singh, Satwinder Singh alias Goldie, Satveer Vading alias Sam, Anmol Bishnoi, Sachin Thapan, Rajveer Singh alias Ravi Rajgarh, Yadvinder Singh alias Chandi, Baldev Chaudhary alias Ballu alias Kaku, Gurinderpal Singh alias Gora and unknown were involved in this case.
They were accused that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is in jail in different cases, with the help of his associates Karamveer Singh alias Karnveer Singh based in USA, Satwinder Singh alias Goldie based in Canada and Satveer Vading alias Sam, sent his brother Anmol Bishnoi abroad on a fake passport. Not only this, he got fake passports made for other associates and relatives of his gang from illegal travel agents of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. He paid them a huge amount for this. Lawrence had sent his brother Anmol Bishnoi and relative Sachin Thapar abroad illegally by making passports with their real photographs on fake names and addresses to save them from arrest in serious crimes and these people had helped him.
