The 27th edition of the CII Chandigarh Fair wrapped up after four dynamic days, leaving attendees with lasting memories and a sense of festivity. Drawing over 90,000 visitors, this year’s fair served as a vibrant hub of cultural exchange and community engagement, celebrating local traditions while promoting sustainable choices.
Attendees enjoyed an expansive shopping experience, with state pavilions from Goa, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh bringing unique artisanal crafts to Chandigarh. The fair’s theme of “Plastic-Free City” and “Make Chandigarh Honk-Free” resonated with visitors, many of whom appreciated the eco-friendly options at stalls and the emphasis on sustainable practices.
The state pavilions were a highlight for many visitors, who valued the chance to explore authentic crafts from across India. “The pavilions from Goa and West Bengal had such stunning handicrafts! The Fair truly brings India’s diverse traditions together under one roof. I loved seeing such a range of crafts in one place—it’s both a shopping and cultural experience,” shared Anita Singh from Mohali.
This year’s event hosted 280+ stalls under 8 concurrent expos, including popular sections like Decor, Haute Couture, North India Auto Show, and Persona. For first-time visitor Rajat Malhotra from Zirakpur, the fair provided an impressive range of products and deals. “The CII Chandigarh Fair is a true delight for shoppers! The variety here is unmatched—from festive decor to unique crafts, my wife found everything we needed for Diwali under one roof. It feels like a celebration, with each stall offering something special.”
Regular attendees expressed their love for the fair’s offerings, and Sunita Verma from Chandigarh shared her appreciation for the fair’s convenience and diversity. “This fair is always a treat for us. I was thrilled to find both traditional crafts and new brands with incredible offerings. The Kalamkari dupattas and handcrafted jewellery were just beautiful—I can’t wait to show my family what I found!”
Beyond shopping, the CII Chandigarh Fair 2024 continued to support MSMEs and women entrepreneurs, providing a premier platform for visibility and interaction with a broad audience. First-time exhibitors such as SEBI, Marico, and artisans from Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh brought fresh additions to the Fair’s dynamic array of products, enhancing the experience for all.
The fair also drew notable personalities from the regional entertainment industry, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Actor Yograj Singh made an appearance, promoting his upcoming film Apne Ghar Begane. Fans were thrilled to meet the star cast of Chor Dil—actress Fida Gill and Vipan Kambol, Creative Producer—who attended the fair just after their film’s release on 25 October. Other well-known personalities such as Harry Bhatti, Director of Yaar Anmuley 2; Vikram Thori, Producer-Director of Rocky Mental; Director Simarjeet Hundal; Actor and Singer Kanwalpreet Singh; and Actor Baninderjit Singh also graced the event. Ranjit Bajaj from Minerva Academy further enhanced the excitement, making this year’s CII Chandigarh Fair a memorable convergence of cultural and cinematic allure.
