A fire broke out in a three-storey stationery and gift shop in the city’s Brass Mill area in the early hours of Thursday. The fire was brought under control after about three hours. Goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes in the fire. The primary cause of fire in the shop is said to be short circuit.
According to the information received, Sanket Jain has a general store and a big stationery shop located at Brass Mill intersection. Sanket Jain lives with his family in a house built above the shop. In this three-storey building, there is a shop on the bottom two floors and the family lives on the third floor. As usual on Wednesday night, he closed the shop and went upstairs to his home. Just now suddenly a fire broke out late at night. Let us tell you, last night only the businessman and his brother were in the house. The rest of the family members were in their other house.

Regarding the incident, Vidisha SDM Kshitij Sharma said that Sanket Jain has a three-storey stationery and gift goods shop by the name of King Store in the Brass Mill area located on Sagar Road. Information about fire in this shop was received at around 1.30 in the night. After this, the fire was brought under control by calling the fire brigade from nearby.
People were evacuated safely
He said that there was no loss of life in this accident. There was a residence next to the shop, which has been vacated. There is also a liquor shop at some distance, but the fire could not reach there.
City Superintendent of Police Atul Kumar Singh said that the fire has been brought under control. The causes of the fire are being investigated. Currently the fire is being said to be caused by short circuit.
Collector and SP also reached the spot. Eyewitnesses say that the nature of the fire was horrific. After the fire, loud noises were heard in the entire area. Seeing the fire, people came out of their houses out of fear. If the fire was not controlled quickly, a major accident could have occurred. Collector Roshan Kumar Singh and SP Rohit Kashwani also reached the spot.
