Just as the Deputy Government of Haryana has filled all the ministerial posts simultaneously, in the same way both the posts of the Assembly will also be filled in one go.
During the special session of the Haryana Assembly to be held on October 25, where the new MLAs will be sworn in. Apart from this, the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker will also be held on October 25.
Lobbying is going on for the post of Speaker–Deputy Speaker
The number of ministers in the cabinet has been completed but two posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker are still left vacant. There is continuous lobbying by MLAs for these posts.
According to the political speculations going on till now, there is a possibility of this post going to the account of Karnal and Jind districts.
Protem Speaker will administer oath to newly elected MLAs
The proceedings of the session have been informed in the letter sent by the Chief Secretary of Haryana to the Assembly Secretary on Tuesday, according to which the proceedings of the House will start at 11 am on October 25.
First Protem Speaker Dr. Raghubir Kadian will administer the oath to all the MLAs. Raghubir Kadian is a Congress MLA and has been elected for the seventh time from Beri constituency.
After that there will be elections for the post of Speaker and Deputy Speaker in the House. The Speaker will assume office immediately after selection. According to the Assembly rules, the Speaker will sit on the main chair in the House while the Deputy Speaker sits on the chair next to the Leader of the Opposition.
Harvindra Kalyan can become speaker
The name of Harvindra Kalyan, who was elected MLA for the third time from Gharaunda Assembly seat of Karnal district for the post of Assembly Speaker, is being discussed in political circles. Harvindra Kalyan is a leader with a clean image and represents the road community in the government.
Since Punjabis have not got much representation in the cabinet, a Punjabi leader can be appointed to the post of Deputy Speaker.
The names of Vinod Bhayana, MLA from Hansi assembly seat of Hisar district, Jind MLA Dr. Krishna Midha and Ghanshyam Das Arora, who became MLA for the third time from Yamunanagar, are in discussion for this post. Vinod Bhayana has been the Chief Parliamentary Secretary in the Congress government.
