On Sunday, in the Suraj Nagar area of Shimlapuri, Ludhiana, a dispute turned deadly when a man attacked his cousin with a sharp weapon, killing him on the day of Bhai Dooj. The accused also injured four others who tried to intervene. Police have arrested the accused, Jatinder Singh, also known as Jyoti, and filed a murder case against him.
Inspector Balwinder Singh, SHO of Shimlapuri Police Station, identified the deceased as Nirmal Singh. The injured individuals include Manjeet Singh, Vijay, Vishwajeet, and Balraj Singh, who are all receiving treatment at the Civil Hospital.
According to reports, Nirmal and his cousin Jatinder had a long-standing feud since last year. On Sunday morning, while Nirmal was parking his bike outside his home, Jatinder arrived, and an argument broke out over the parking. The dispute escalated, and Jatinder attacked Nirmal with a sharp weapon.
Hearing Nirmal’s screams, his brother Manjeet and friends Vijay, Vishwajeet, and Balraj rushed to his aid, but the accused attacked them as well. Nirmal, who was critically injured, was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The other injured individuals are undergoing treatment. The police have begun an investigation into the case.
