Congress leader Rajeev Shukla strongly criticized Pakistan’s repeated and unnecessary attempts to raise the Kashmir issue at the United Nations. Taking a firm stance against the neighboring country, Shukla stated that Pakistan’s delegation continuously tries to bring up the Kashmir issue and spreads misinformation, whereas the reality on the ground is entirely different.
“Pakistani Delegation Using This Platform to Spread Lies”
Shukla said, “Once again, the Pakistani delegation has used this platform to spread lies and false information. It has become a habit for this delegation to spread false and misleading information, even here at this respected platform. I want to clarify that true democratic countries operate differently. In the recently held free and fair elections, the people of Jammu and Kashmir voted in record numbers. No amount of lies can change the ground reality.”
Spreading False and Misleading Information Has Become Their Habit: Shukla
During the general debate of the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Rajya Sabha MP Shukla remarked, “A delegation has once again used this prestigious platform to spread lies and fake information. It has become a habit for this delegation to rely on false and misleading information at this platform. This delegation attempts to measure the world’s largest democracy using such standards.”
He further stated, “True democracies operate differently. In the recently concluded free and fair elections, people in Jammu and Kashmir voted in record numbers. No amount of false or misleading information can change the ground reality. I urge this delegation to engage more constructively at this platform, rather than using it for a divisive political agenda.”
The Congress leader concluded by stating, “India will continue to support the United Nations’ campaign against misinformation.”
