Officials said Tari has been detained under the PIT-NDPS Act for two years and was sent to Central Jail, Bathinda.

Posting on X, the DGP of Punjab Police said that Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and Gurdaspur Police achieved a significant achievement by taking preventive custody of top smuggler Avtar Singh alias Tari from the border district Gurdaspur under the PITS-NDPS Act. Is.
This is the first successful use by Punjab of the stringent provisions of the PITS-NDPS Act, which allows preventive detention in drug-related cases. Tari has been detained under PIT-NDPS Act for 2 years and has been sent to Central Jail Bathinda.
He wrote that this is a strong step in the ongoing efforts to stop drug trafficking in Punjab and make the state drug free. Further investigation in this regard is ongoing.
4 accused arrested from Fazilka
Let us inform that on October 24, Fazilka Police, working swiftly on backward and forward linkages, busted a network involved in possession and sale of illegal weapons and arrested the main accused Manpreet Singh.
The police arrested a total of four accused. Three country-made pistols, three magazines and ten live cartridges were recovered from them. The accused used to bring illegal weapons from Madhya Pradesh and sell them further. Manpreet Singh had also sold illegal weapons to Bathinda resident Jaspreet Singh. Jaspreet has also been arrested.
