A tragic accident took place in Punjab on Friday morning. A car met with an accident on the over bridge on Barnala-Bathinda National Highway in Tapa, Barnala. The mother and son in the car died tragically in this road accident. Meanwhile, two other people have been injured. The injured were admitted to the government hospital in Tapa. The deceased have been identified as Kulwinder Kumar and Gurdev Kaur, residents of Ganganagar, Rajasthan.
According to the information, on Friday morning a family from Ganganagar was going to Chandigarh in their Brezza car. When the vehicle was crossing the over bridge near Tapa, the driver fell asleep and the vehicle collided with the divider of the bridge.
Salvinder Kumar, resident of Ganganagar, is undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital, Tapa. Salwinder told that he along with his brother Kulwinder Kumar, sister-in-law Geeta Rani and mother Gurdev Kaur were going from Ganganagar to Chandigarh in a Brija car to attend someone’s funeral. His brother Kulwinder was driving the car. When they reached the overbridge of Tapa on the Barnala-Bathinda main road, suddenly the car lost its balance, due to which the car went out of control and collided with the divider.
In this accident, car driver Kulwinder Kumar and his mother Gurdev Kaur died on the spot, while Geeta Rani and Salwinder Kumar were injured. Praveen Kumar of Sahara Club said that the injured were admitted to Civil Hospital Tapa through Mini Sahara Welfare Club and 108 ambulance. The incident has been informed to the police. Police reached the spot and took stock of the incident site. At present the matter is being investigated. Police Havildar Manjinder Singh said that two people have died in this road accident. The causes of the road accident are being investigated.
